IAN FRANK // FILMS
Visual storyteller
Origin story
An avid skier and outdoorsman, Ian was born Thanksgiving '95 and raised in Missoula, Montana.
His formative years were spent Montana's wilderness, traversing rugged landscapes in all seasons.
Embarking on a Global Citizen Year, aiming to never let schooling interfere with education,
Ian produced a debut film in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Drawing from a decade of soujouring remote landscapes
Traveling is the antidote to seeing beauty in the ordinary world.
"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it"
The resistance to college led right back to University of Montana as a fulltime staff videographer.
It's true tale of coming home,
where a river runs through it.

Resolving this experience, has been a re-dedication to storytelling in the American West.
Core Values

CURIOSITY
The inspiration as I strive to go deeper in understanding myself, my communities, and the world.

COURAGE
Championing bold artistic voices while revealing the delicate truth of our humanity.

CREATIVITY
Transforming visions of reality my films invite audience participation in mutual creative enrichment.
- IMPACT STORY
Los pulmones del mundo.
My first step into Ecuador's lush rainforest in 2014.
In time, I found myself more integrated into the community of activisits, conservation leaders and storytellers.
Soon, I began collaborating with Leo Cerda to help found the Hakhu Foundation.
This ongoing connection to the Ecuadorian Amazon isn't just about filmmaking. It's about a human connection to a world of mystery, and the storied past that, with each return, deepens my commitment to defending this vital place.
